Tragedy as man, 23, dies in car crash in Sheffield city centre
A 23-year-old man has died after a serious car crash in Sheffield city centre.
The victim has been named locally as Junaid Latif, with tributes beginning to pour in for the 23-year-old online.
The fatal smash, involving a single car, happened in the centre of Sheffield at around 3.41am on Sunday, with police racing to the scene and sealing off a road in the city.

Mr Latif was rushed to hospital but sadly died a short time after he arrived.
Two other occupants of the car suffered minor injuries.
Tributes and messages of condolences are now being left online for Mr Latif and his family, with one person saying the 23-year-old “was truly loved by many”.
“So sad. RIP Junaid. Sending thoughts to family and friends,” said another.
“RIP. Love and prayers to family and friends,” added a third.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called at 3.41am today (3 October) to reports of a single-vehicle collision in Moore Street, Sheffield.
“A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time after he arrived. The other two occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 149 of 3 October.”
