Dillian Whyte is NO-SHOW at open media workouts ahead of huge heavyweight clash against Tyson Fury

Dillian Whyte was a no-show for his scheduled open workout on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s huge showdown with Tyson Fury.

The ‘Bodysnatcher’ previously failed to turn up to a press conference promoting the event and this is another example of him refusing to play along with the promoters.

As news emerged that Whyte would not be working out in the ring at Wembley Park, Sky Sports’ head of Boxing, Adam Smith, said: ‘He’s been a no-show throughout the build-up. He wasn’t happy, I know the team with the original contractual situation, he didn’t come to the first press conference they had at Wembley.

‘However, I know Dillian very well and his team. He’s been training ferociously hard out in the Algarve, locked up, holed up.

‘Actually thinking back to the many fights we’ve had with him on Sky, he tends to come in on a Tuesday, so he’s arriving today, he’ll get the jet in and I’m sure he’ll be there for the press conference tomorrow where they will come face-to-face for the very first time.

‘It won’t get to Tyson at all, he’s his own man, Dillian is his own man, it is part of the sub plot isn’t it.

He continued: ‘We love a bit of intrigue in the build-up to a huge fight, which this is. Dillian has added that, Tyson will just go on. Tyson will perform in front of his fans and I’m sure he’ll look very sharp.

‘I’m very much looking forward to seeing Dillian live, gauging his state of mind. I think he’s ready, he’s up for this, it’s his golden opportunity. He’s waited more than 1000 days for it and deserves his chance.’

Whyte begins the clash for the WBC title as a massive underdog against the ‘Gypsy King’, who remains undefeated.
